The color black relates to the hidden, the secretive and the unknown. Emotional and mysterious. Black is the absorption of all color and the absence of light. White is the color at its most complete and pure, the color of perfection. White is totally reflective, awakening openness, growth and creativity.

White Fun Fact: White is an achromatic color, literally a “color without color”, composed of a mixture of frequencies of the light of the visible spectrum. It is one of the most common colors in nature, the color of sunlight, snow, milk, limestone. In ancient Egypt and ancient Rome, priestesses wore white as a symbol of purity and citizenship.

Black Fun Fact: Black is the darkest color, the result of the absence of or complete absorption of light. Black is considered a primary color, used in color printing to produce all colors (along with cyan, yellow and magenta).

Black and white worn together is both tough and tender, regal and royal, soft and hard. Black and white garments. when mixed, are both feminine and masculine, creating a fabulous look in a category all its own!

Black Fun Fact: Black was one of the first colors used by artists in Neolithic cave paintings. In the 14th century, black began to be worn by royalty, the clergy, judges and government officials in much of Europe.

Black became a high fashion color in the 20th century. The color black rocks the catwalk with the same sense of style and mystery as a slinky black cat!

White Fun Fact: White was one of the first colors used by Paleolithic artists, they used calcite or chalk, sometimes as a highlight, along with a charcoal and red and yellow ochre in their vivid cave paintings.
