Paint Your Eyes With Pretty Pastel Eye Shadows!

As the longer days draw near and Spring will soon make way into Summer as seasons change, what always stays in style is wearing pastel colors at this time of year! This holds true with our makeup as well, and pastel eye shadows are a colorful, beautiful way to party up your eyes to glamorous perfection.

Pastel colors are made by having high value and a low to intermediate saturation level. Pastels are mixed from light and dark shades of any color that are made with the combination of a color pigment and a binder. Some popular pastel shades are pink, mauve, baby blue, lavender and pale yellow. Pastel colors are especially in vogue around the Easter season and through the end of summer.

In eye shadows, pastel colors can bring out the glory of your eyes in a way that is flattering and flirty. As with all makeup, your color selection will vary depending on your eye color and your skin tone, as well as with the color of clothes that you are wearing.

I have light blonde hair, an alabaster/porcelain skin tone and blue eyes. Since I am so fair, I prefer darker shades of eye shadow on my eyes to bring out my complexion. However, if I do wear a pastel eye shadow, I tend to go darker with my lipstick. Here is a picture of me wearing a pale pink wisp of eye shadow and a deep red lipstick.  This look is flattering without appearing overly made up. Perfect for springtime!

Pastel green and pastel blue eye shadows radiate glamour in my eyes! For those of you with medium to dark complexions, medium tone greens and blues will enhance your skin and bring out your eyes more stunningly than pale greens and lighter blues will.

The colors of the pastel family are usually described as soothing, soft, near neutral, washed out and desaturated. Pastels are merely lighter shades of your favorite colors!

If you do go with a pastel effect on your eyes, don’t be afraid to go bold! Pastel colors applied heavily still resonate with a softer, gentler visual than darker shades of the same colors!

Women with any skin tone look great in lavender, pink and variants of blue eye shadows. Purple has a way of enhancing all eye colors, causing the eyes to really shimmer and stand out. This is a great look for evening events and parties!

To help your eye shadow to last all day, use a primer and a setting spray to make any eye shadow or eye liner water and sweat resistant. After all of your eye makeup is in place, including your mascara, close you eyes and lightly spray the mist over your makeup. This primer can be found at most drug stores or beauty supply stores.

Pastel eye shadow colors make your eyes look as scrumptious as cotton candy, but much less sticky! Pastel eye shadow shades are not only gorgeous when applied to your eyes, but the colors of shadow add a touch of elegance and a playful party look to your pretty peepers!

And as I said, if you are particularly playful and daring and flirtatious, don’t be afraid to go bold! Every head in the room will turn as all eyes will on your whimsical, mesmerizing, fabulously made up eyes!

Pastel eye shadows are pretty and pleasing to the eye! Both the eyes that they are decorating, and the eyes that are staring into your sultry eyes!

Tip When Using Pastel Eye Shadows: If you want the pastel color to look stronger, wet your eye shadow brush first, and then sweep on the shadow!

Whatever your pastel color choice, pretty pastels will party up any eyes!

Pastels are perfect for all art projects, and making up your fantastic face with alluring shades of pastels is truly a creative art!

Blast your eyes to color extravagance and play up your peepers with knock-out shades of pastels!

The pastel painted eyes have it!
