The Choker: Deck Your Neck in Sheer Elegance!

Of every type of neck jewelry that is worn as a decoration (chains, long dangling necklaces, scarves, chokers) the choker by far creates the most appealing and the most elegant look.

Chokers add a touch of class and beauty to any neckline!

A choker is a close-fitting necklace, worn high on the neck. This jewelry often times consists of a plain band or ribbon worn tightly around the center of the neck. However, the choker can also consist of more than one row circling the neck, or have longer strands of the jewelry flowing over the center chest area.

To me, a true choker rests simply and tightly around the mid-portion of the neck!

This look is pure elegance!

Simple yet sultry!

Chokers can be made from a variety of materials, including velvet, plastic, bead, metal and leather. They are often adorned in a myriad of ways, including with sequins, studs, a pendant and of course, a cameo!

It is said that the first choker originated in China, and later on, the classic, chic style of necklace caught on around the world.

In modern times, the choker became associated with high fashion. The choker creates a beautiful appearance when the hair is worn up off of the neck, showing off the choker, along with similar or matching earrings. When a choker is worn with a bare chested or V-neck top, blouse or dress, the look is gorgeous.

Many chokers are made just as fancy in the back as they are in the front, which you don’t generally find with most necklaces that merely clamp together in the back. This front/back decorative visual will generate looks from people both in front of you and behind you.

Chokers are a step above all other necklaces as far as creating an elegant yet stylish, hip look. By fitting tightly around the neck, they can add a more elongated illusion to the neck, which stands out when the hair is worn up. However, long hair worn down, with a bare neckline, creates another great frame for the choker.

Chokers are alluring and beautiful!

So the next time that you are in the mood to decorate, deck your neck in sheer elegance!

A stylish, easy way to add a touch of class to your apparel and to your appeal!

The choker: A cut above all other neck jewelry!
